Cleveland.com Names Cockeye BBQ a Must-Stop for Southern Comfort Food in Northeast Ohio

We’re honored — and honestly a little fired up — to share that Cockeye BBQ has been featured in Cleveland.com’s “Favorite Noshes and Sips of 2025” dining roundup!

The Cleveland.com dining team highlighted our kitchen for bringing true Southern comfort food to Northeast Ohio — especially calling out our fried green tomatoes, a rare find in this region and a dish close to our smoky hearts. Served alongside slow-smoked brisket, pulled pork, sliced, smoked turkey, fried or cajun catfish, and all the fixin’s, it’s the kind of plate meant to be shared, savored, and remembered.

They also gave a nod to some of our Southern staples — deep-fried cheesy grits, house-baked cornbread, and the occasional fried okra — and even mentioned that Cockeye Creamery next door makes the perfect dessert stop. Their verdict?

Cleveland.com also featured Amba for its unforgettable Crispy Puris — and yes, they serve Cockeye Creamery for dessert! Turns out, great restaurants run in the same circles.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Cleveland.com team for the recognition and write-up, and even more grateful to our guests, staff, and suppliers who make this place feel like home every day. We’ll keep doing what we’ve always done — cooking with heart, smoking low and slow, and serving Warren with pride.

A great destination for a Sunday drive.
