I started some planning for contests this year and figured I'd fill you in.
None of these contests are set in stone, but here are the closest ones to us, and possible options. I will use this page as a scratch pad, so check here often if you want to know where Cockeye will be in 2008.

MAY 3-4 - Waldorf Eggfest
It is not likely we will attend this event.
June
June 7-8 - 2nd Annual "Q for the Kids" - Fairbanks, Indiana
We will not be attending this year, as I have a business committment.
June 28-29 - New Egglandfest
It is not likely we will attend this event.
July
July 11-12 - Smoke On The Allegheny - Franklin, PA
July 18-19 - Ohio Veteran's BBQ Cookoff
Unfortunately, we won't be able to compete in this one this year. It conflicts with Jamboree In The Hills!
July 25-27 - Chesepeake Bay BBQ Cookoff - Stevensville, MD
July 25-27 - Taste of Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids, MI
These two are on the same weekend. So we'll have to choose one or the other.
August
August 15-17 - Madison Ribberfest - Madison Indiana
August 15-17 - Midwest BBQ & Blues Throwdown Mount Morris, Michigan
Unfortunately, these 2 bbq contests get the boot because I have a committment as Cubmaster.
August 22-24 - New Holland Summerfest - New Holland PA
September
September 5-7 - Pickin' In The Panhandle - Hedgesville, WV
September 12-13 - 3rd Annual Jim Dandy's BBQ Cookoff - Cincinnati, OH
September 27-28 (not set yet) - Oinktoberfest - Clarence, NY
October
October 17-19 - Ohio Smoked Meat Championship - Nelsonville, Ohio

Dates added for September 12-13th. This was a fun contest. I judged this one last year and space was TIGHT. I hear they are moving it to the Hamilton County Fairgrounds which will prove to be a lot more cooker friendly.

I received word from Fran that the contest in Franklin for 2008 will be on July 11-12.
New Dates Added
Talk of a new contest in Flint, MI and added the tentative dates for the Oink in NY.
